UNDERStanding Dementia: Vascular Dementia
–
Presented by Andrea Bozoki, MD FAAN | Professor and Division Chief, Cognitive and Behavioral Neurology, University of North Carolina & Outreach and Engagement Core Leader, Duke-UNC Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center
Who gets vascular dementia and why? How is it different from Alzheimer’s disease? Most importantly, what can you do to prevent or slow it down if you have it? The answers to these questions and some you didn’t even think to ask, will be presented at this informative and engaging talk. We will discuss the symptoms most commonly seen in these conditions, the underlying causes, how these differ from Alzheimer’s disease, and how these conditions can be best treated and supported.
The September program is made possible by the Duke-UNC Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center, NC Registry for Brain Health and our series partners, The Age Coach and Senior Care Authority.
