Extended Deadline for 2026 REC Scholar Applications
The Duke-UNC Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (ADRC) is pleased to announce that the deadline for the 2026 Research Education Component (REC) Scholar Request for Applications (RFA) has been extended to January 16, 2026.
The REC Scholar program supports early-career investigators conducting basic, translational, or clinical research in Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (AD+ADRD), with a focus on age-related changes across the lifespan. Scholars receive funding, structured mentorship, and access to ADRC core resources to advance their research and career development.
Key Details:
- Extended Application Deadline: January 16, 2026
- Award Start Date: July 1, 2026
- Funding: $10,000 per year for up to two years (Year 2 contingent on renewal and successful completion of Year 1)
- Eligibility: Faculty within 3 years of first appointment or advanced fellows/postdocs transitioning to faculty status at Duke, UNC Chapel Hill, UNC Pembroke, NCCU, or ECU
